Price Match Guarantee Terms and Conditions

At Second Hand Jewellery, we aim to offer genuine value on authenticated pre-owned jewellery. Our Price Match Guarantee is designed to give customers confidence when purchasing from us. Due to the unique nature of second-hand jewellery, all price match requests are reviewed individually and approval is not automatic.

1. Identical Item Requirement

To be considered for a price match, the competitor’s item must be identical, or as close to identical as reasonably possible, to the item offered by Second Hand Jewellery.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Metal type and purity, such as 9ct, 14ct, 18ct gold or other stated metal.

Total item weight.

Stone specifications, where applicable, including stone type, size, quantity, setting and condition.

Brand, model or designer, where applicable.

Overall condition, including signs of wear, age, previous repair, damage or alterations.

Size and dimensions, including ring size, chain length, bracelet length, pendant size or other relevant measurements.

Design, style and finish.

As pre-owned jewellery is often unique, Second Hand Jewellery retains sole discretion in deciding whether another item is considered identical for the purposes of this guarantee.

2. Proof Required

Customers must provide clear evidence of the competitor’s advertised price at the time of the price match request.

This must include:

A link to the competitor’s listing, product page or advertisement.

The advertised price of the item.

Clear evidence of the item’s specifications, including metal type, purity, weight, stone details, size and condition.

The date the item was available at the advertised price.

Any delivery charges, additional fees or purchase conditions that apply to the competitor’s offer.

Screenshots may be requested where necessary, but Second Hand Jewellery must be able to verify the listing independently.

3. Availability

The competitor’s item must be publicly available to purchase at the time the price match request is made.

The Price Match Guarantee does not apply if the competitor’s item is sold, reserved, out of stock, unavailable for immediate purchase or no longer listed at the advertised price.

4. Eligible Competitors

The competitor must be a registered UK business trading legally and offering the item for sale to the general public.

The competitor must be operating from a genuine retail website, physical shop or recognised business sales platform.

Second Hand Jewellery may refuse a price match if we are unable to verify the competitor, the item, the advertised price or the business details.

5. Exclusions

The Price Match Guarantee does not apply to:

Private sales.

Marketplace listings from private individuals.

Auction websites or auction-style listings.

Items listed on bidding platforms.

Clearance, liquidation, insolvency or closing-down sales.

Pricing errors, misprints or obvious mistakes.

Items that are out of stock, sold, reserved or unavailable for immediate purchase.

Promotional offers that require memberships, subscriptions, finance agreements, bundle purchases or discount codes.

Trade-only pricing.

Wholesale pricing.

Loyalty scheme prices.

Limited-time flash sales.

Damaged, faulty or incomplete items unless the Second Hand Jewellery item is in the same condition.

Items where the specification, weight, hallmark, stone details or condition cannot be clearly verified.

6. Verification and Approval

Second Hand Jewellery reserves the right to verify all competitor pricing, item details and specifications before approving a price match request.

We may ask for further information if the evidence provided is incomplete, unclear or does not allow us to make a fair comparison.

A price match is only approved once confirmed directly by Second Hand Jewellery. Submitting a request does not guarantee that a price match will be accepted.

7. Pre-Owned Jewellery Disclaimer

Due to the nature of pre-owned jewellery, small differences in age, wear, weight, hallmarking, stone quality, condition, repairs, sizing or finish may affect whether an item is considered comparable.

For this reason, Second Hand Jewellery has the final decision on whether a competitor’s item qualifies as identical or suitable for a price match.

8. Discounts and Promotions

The Price Match Guarantee cannot be combined with any other discount code, promotional offer, voucher, sale price or special offer unless otherwise stated by Second Hand Jewellery.

If a price match is approved, no further discount will be applied to that item.

9. Right to Refuse, Amend or Withdraw

Second Hand Jewellery reserves the right to amend, withdraw, refuse or cancel the Price Match Guarantee at any time.

We also reserve the right to refuse any request that we believe is inaccurate, unverifiable, misleading, abusive or not in line with the terms of this policy.
